Today I produced four works, all different, two portraits, a still life and one that could be described as a lifestyle painting, yes I'm inventing that term, after all, we are the artists.Of these four works, there's one that I'd call a bad work of art, and here it is:Why do I think it's a bad work of art? The problem, as I see it, is that the jaw of the person on the right is too low. It's bad because, at this stage, you can't say it's a style because everything else in the painting is quite well proportioned. Everything would have had to be assumed in terms of deformation for me to be satisfied with the painting.I have several solutions: Correct the jaw so that it's homogeneous Hide the mouth Deform the baby's headI'll work on the paint again tomorrow, but I'll give myself the night to stop thinking about it.
