First milestone for my oil pastel painting challenge, 10 reddish painting !

It’s hard to keep the motivation and my red oil pastels are almost done.. I don’t know if I will have enough to finish the 20 painting I have to do 🙂

So I decided to try my very first underpainting with hard oil pastel, done with Cray-pas Expressionist.

I wasn’t confident at all, but you already know, you read this sentence everywhere, and it’s true « TRUST THE PROCESS »

I’m quite proud of this portrait, it was from a photo I took for a photo book I created, I loved his haircut and I asked him to pose for me. The sun was really high in the sky so I told him, you can put your locks on your eyes to be more comfortable. I don’t know if my my choice of orange for an underpainting of a red painting was a good choice but I definitely prefer it to a white background. For the next ones I will try other colours for my underpainting.
