How I paint my grandmother with an oil pastel limited palette.

Tough one ! I was really not confident at all with this oil pastel painting. As I was scrolling on instagram I found a post on oil painting about mastering light and shadows  where the painter starts from a dark value and add progressively lighter value.

And I was like can I apply this to oil pastel ? Yes ! In fact every videos about oil painting can be done with oil pastel with some corrections of course.

In the middle of the painting I almost quit, but a little voice in my head kept saying « trust the process » and it worked!

This is one of my grandmother, she lives in New York at my aunt’s, she can’t see from one eye.
